We are Asli Lulu and Bogi Bogi.
We are two partners on a journey from corporate life and big cities to the heart of Avanos. One of us is the guide of the mountains, the paths and the road;
the other is a producer who wanders in the colors of the abstract world.

We came to this land with the desire to take root, we put down our roots in Avanos.
Kökhane was born from these very roots.

The traces of Boğaç's trekking/hiking journeys, the artifacts of Aslı's hands, the paintings we made together, the plates and glasses specially produced for Kökhane...

Nothing you see in the space is superficial; it is all part of a story that has accumulated over time, formed with labor and deepened. The warmth of the fireplace in winter, the French doors wide open in summer and the view of Avanos Old Bazaar are a quiet but indispensable part of this story.

We did not set up the Root House as a ready-made place.
Nature gave us breath, art inspired us, and the table reminded us to share.
We imagined a space where it is possible to slow down, chat, produce and meet at the same table.

Kökhane is as much for us as it is for everyone who comes here.
we wanted it to be a stop with depth, where he could feel good.

We wanted everyone who came here to slow down a bit.
Let him sit at a table, shake a hot cup in his hands, blend into the moment.
